Kimberly A. Bartley is a Partner with the firm Waldron & Schneider, LLP. After graduating cum laude from Presbyterian College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Political Science, she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2001 from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Mrs. Bartley is licensed to practice in the State of Texas as well as the United States District and United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas.
Upon joining the firm in 2001, Mrs. Bartley’s practice initially focused on representing Chapter 7 bankruptcy Trustees in the administration of their estates. Mrs. Bartley also helps individuals and businesses review their assets, income, and debts to evaluate options available to resolve debt obligations. Mrs. Bartley also assists clients in both out of court workouts and filing for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 7 (liquidation) or Chapter 11 (business reorganization) when appropriate. Mrs. Bartley also represents creditors in bankruptcies filed under Chapters 7 and 11to preserve their claims and pursue their rights to recover assets or seek payment from the estate.
In addition to representing clients in all facets of bankruptcy, Mrs. Bartley focuses her practice on assisting individuals and business in the formation of new business entities and addressing the needs of growing and expanding businesses. Mrs. Bartley works with clients to establish Limited Liability Companies, Corporations, General Partnerships, and Limited Partnerships, transferring assets, negotiating and drafting asset and stock purchase agreements to buy or sell businesses, preparing and negotiating owner buy out agreements, and addressing a client’s transactional needs with respect to lease agreements, franchise agreements, Private Placement Memorandums, master service agreements, and contract terms and conditions. Mrs. Bartley also assists corporate clients in addressing employment matters including preparation and review of employee handbooks, employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, confidentiality agreements, covenants not to compete, and representing clients navigating issues arising with the Texas Workforce Commission and Department of Labor when employment is terminated.
Mrs. Bartley’s clients engage in business in a variety of industries including engineering, health care, oil and gas, manufacturing, retail, and residential and commercial real estate. She is active in the Clear Lake community including serving as a Director with the Clear Creek Education Foundation, attending Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce events, serving as a Committee Member for three Scouting America units, and serving as the Parliamentarian for the Goforth Elementary PTA. Mrs. Bartley was a member of the 2014 inaugural class of Leadership Clear Lake and continues to serve on the advisory board of Leadership Clear Lake. When not practicing law, Mrs. Bartley can be found working with her children’s Scouting America units, coaching soccer with her husband through FFPS, or serving as a toddler teacher with her church’s Kids Ministry.
